There are many opportunities to access alternate funding for small businesses that maybe struggling due to the pandemic. Some grants are targeted BIPOC and women entrepreneurs, funds created just to highlight diverse founders. Throught 2020, The beauty industry is booming and grant makers are taking notice by creating competitions for beauty and wellness brands.

FEARLESS FUND

The first round of the Fearless Pitch will focus on the beauty industry.Fearless Pitch is a chance for women of color founders to showcase their startups for a chance to win a $100,000 equity investment from the Fearless Fund. Fearless Pitch is a series of competitions, with each round of competition focused explicitly on one of our focus industries. The Fearless Fund will select 2 founders to compete head to head as finalists in our very own Fearless Pitch to be broadcasted on Instagram Live. Finalists will be asked a series of questions in “Verzuz” style to gauge knowledge of their industry, startup, and founder journey. Apply by November 7th:

MCBRIDE SISTERS #SHECANTHRIVE2020

At its inception, “The McBride Sisters SHE CAN Professional Development Fund” was created in 2019 to promote the professional advancement of women in the wine industry in a concerted effort to help close the gender and race gap. In the first year, the fund awarded scholarships of nearly $40,000 to empower women to strive for change and to create opportunities for themselves and others, where there had not been before.
